Today we woke up to find three inches of slushy snow on our doorstep. Being April this is a very odd site and is a very good example between weather and climate change. Climate change isnt always about the continuous heating of the planet but also about more intense storms and changes in weather patterns. We had an interesting start this morning, we attempted to take a city bus to the school but because of the rain/snow mix that had accumulated overnight busses were stuck everywhere throughout the city, so we gave up waiting and decided to call a taxi.
Early this morning we presented at a World Issues class at the Sir Robert Borden High School.
We walked into the building and the bell rang followed by a recording of their national anthem. Mr. Johnson talked to one student who said that the anthem is different every day. One day it will be all about the vocals and the next day it'll be about the drumline. We also jealously noted that their school day starts at 9am while ours starts at 7:35am.The class is an elective class since the students being seniors have only one required class which is English. Our presentation went very well and afterwards we had quite a bit of time to socialize in small groups with the students and learned some interesting things. We found out that they are required to take a french class up through ninth grade because the country is bilingual (both English and French). Most of the students walk to school because the school is centered in the local neighborhood. They have small class sizes, about 18 students per class. This class was about 28 so it is larger than most other classes. It was good to see so many young people wanting to learn about global issues!

Great job on your presentation. I can't think of 5 better students to represent all of us back home!
